Chargers compete in two events on Day 2 of 2023 NCAA DII Outdoor Championships

The Hillsdale College women's track and field team competed in multiple events on a busy second day of the 2023 NCAA DII Outdoor Championships on Friday in Pueblo, Colorado.

After a short weather delay due to a thunderstorm, sophomore Reagan Dahlquist made her NCAA national meet debut for the Chargers in the high jump. Dahlquist cleared the starting height of 1.60 meters on her second attempt at the height, but was unable to get over the second height at 1.65 meters while battling an injury, and finished in 19th place in the nation overall in the event while gaining valuable experience for the future.

Hillsdale closed the day with its women's 4x400m team taking the track for preliminary heats. The Chargers' team of Reese Dragovich, Dakota Stamm, Francesca Federici and Shura Ermakov, who came into the event seeded 14th in the nation, moved up two spots to 12th with a strong race, finishing in 3:46.97, but were unable to leap into the top nine in the event and earn a place in the finals.

The Chargers wrap up national meet competition on Saturday with several more events and contenders for All-American honors. The day opens with junior Eden Little competing in the women's javelin at 1:30 p.m., followed by shot put competitors Averi Parker and Nikita Maines getting into action at 3:15 p.m. Hillsdale finishes the day with Ermakov, who will compete for All-American honors in the 400m hurdles finals at 9:20 p.m. after making it through the prelims on Friday.
