Johansson earns second-straight G-MAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week Award (Feb. 1-7)

As the women's indoor track and field season keeps rolling on in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, Hillsdale College's Kajsa Johansson keeps adding to her legacy.

The G-MAC conference office announced on Tuesday that Johansson has been named the league's Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the second-straight week, earning the honor for Feb. 1-7.

Johansson had a standout day at Hillsdale's Wide-Track Classic on Friday, breaking her own school record in the 60m dash with a time of 7.60, and also recording a provisional qualifying mark for the NCAA Division II national meet in the process.

On Saturday, she joined teammates Shura Ermakov, Dakota Stamm and Alanna O'Leary on a Charger 4x400 meter relay team that took second at the GVSU Snowdown Showdown in 3:48.70, the fastest time in the relay in G-MAC history, and the second-fastest time in Division II this season.

A three-time national meet qualifier for the Chargers who possesses four school records, Johansson currently holds the fastest time in the G-MAC in both the 60m dash and the 200m dash. The North Oaks, Minnesota native currently holds the eighth fastest time in Division II in the 60m dash, and the sixth fastest time in the 200m dash.

The honor is Johansson's third G-MAC Athlete of the Week award in her career. She is also the first Hillsdale College women's track and field athlete to win multiple Athlete of the Week awards in the same season.

Johansson and the Chargers travel to the GVSU Big Meet this Friday and Saturday in Allendale, Michigan, for their next action.
