Johansson Named G-MAC Women's Track Freshman of the Year

2019 G-MAC Indoor Track All-Conference Release

A total of 16 Hillsdale College track athletes earned all-conference honors after the conclusion of the 2018-19 indoor season.

Thursday morning, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference unveiled this year's All-G-MAC honorees. Leading the way for Hillsdale is 2019 Women's Track Freshman of the Year Kajsa Johansson.

A record-breaking sprinter, Johansson was named the top first-year competitor among runners this year. She shattered school and conference records in winning the 60 meter dash at last month's conference championships, held at the University of Findlay. Johansson also scooped up First-Team All-Conference recognition.

Joining Johansson on the First Team from Hillsdale was distance runner Christina Sawyer.

Second-team selections were Maryssa Depies, Allysen Eads and Abbie Porter. Melanie Boehm, Arena Lewis, Nikita Maines, Alanna O'Leary and Calli Townsend were all named Third-Team All-Conference.

On the men's side, heptathalon champion Ryan Thomsen was named First-Team All-Conference.

Second-Team selections were: John Baldwin, Mark Miller, Nathan Pando, Ben Raffin, Jacob Schmidt, Adam Wade and Levi Wyse.
