The Hillsdale College women's track team hosted the Wide Track Classic on Friday and Saturday at the Margot V. Biermann Center. While they certainly weren't at full strength, they placed ninth as a team with 51.5 points.

Breaking her own Hillsdale College record in shot put, freshman Nikita Maines took third place, throwing for 14.09 meters, which is also a provisional mark. After an ankle injury and sickness, freshman Michaela Burkhauser took eighth in weight throw with a personal best throw of 15.2 meters.

Hillsdale's mid-distance crew had a nice day on the track. In the championship mile run senior Ally Eads took third place in 5:03.63 and junior Arena Lewis finished in sixth in 5:06.54. And in the 800m run, freshman Amber Mango took fifth place in 2:24.11, a new personal record. The women's distance medley relay won the race with an NCAA Division II provisional time of 12:09.57. The relay was made up of sophomores Maryssa Depies, Calli Townsend, Abbie Porter and senior Ally Eads.

Freshmen Melanie Boehm and Alanna O'Leary competed in the 200m dash, taking 16th and 17th, respectively. Boehm finished in 26.95 and O'Leary finished with a time of 26.98. And freshman Anna Cannon earned a personal best in high jump en route to taking fourth place. Her new personal best is 1.52 meters.

The 4-by-400m relay team, made up of Boehm, Porter, Townsend and O'Leary, put together a nice race to finish second in 4:00.41.
