Hillsdale College Women's Track Tabbed as G-MAC Favorite

Hillsdale College Women's Track Tabbed as G-MAC Favorite

2018-19 G-MAC Women's Track Preseason Coach's Poll

In 2017-18, the Hillsdale College women's track and cross country programs went 3-for-3 in winning conference titles.

G-MAC coaches expect that trend to continue this year.

The Chargers were picked to finish in first place in this year's Great Midwest Athletic Conference Preseason Coach's Poll, released Thursday morning by the conference office.

There wasn't much debate among G-MAC coaches as to Hillsdale's chances to repeat as champions this year. The team received 12 of a possible 14 first-place votes, recording 14 more poll points than second-place Walsh. Newcomer Tiffin was picked third, followed by Findlay (fourth) and Malone (fifth).

With athletes like sophomore Abbie Porter, sophomore Zalonya Eby, sophomore Carmen Botha, sophomore Maryssa Depies, senior Kristin Freeman, senior Allysen Eads, junior Arena Lewis and junior Addison Rauch back, it's no wonder Hillsdale has high hopes for the 2018-19 school year, which begins Dec. 8-9 with meets at Saginaw Valley State and Grand Valley State.

The complete poll appears below.
