Bio

Prior to Hillsdale, Joseph served for 12 years in the U.S. Army as part of the 2nd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment. During that time Joseph deployed to Afghanistan 8 times in various positions to support combat operations in Afghanistan. During a combat operation on his 7th deployment, in November 2017 Joseph received a Purple Heart for a gunshot wound. After conducting extensive physical rehabilitation Joseph then deployed an eighth time as a Sniper Section Leader. During President Trump's visit to Afghanistan for Thanksgiving in 2019 Joseph's section was chosen as the sniper protection detail for the President. Joseph was awarded an Army Achievement Medal w/ C device in recognition of his team's role in ensuring the President's security. Due to his combat and other injuries from his career Joseph medically retired in March 2022.
