Charger men compete at Reggie Thomas Invitational

The Hillsdale College Chargers put together a series of solid performances today at Tiffin University's Reggie Thomas Classic.  

In the field, freshman T.J. McGinnis took 14th in shot put with a mark of 14.09 meters, sophomore Steve Weideman took 12th in the hammer throw with a mark of 50.22 metersand freshman Joshua Nichols finished second overall in triple jump, leaping 13.41 meters. 

First up in the track was Senior Ian Brown in the 110m hurdles. After prelims, he finished fourth among some of the top in the nation in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.47 seconds. 

Fellow hurdler freshman Sean Fagan finished fourth in the  400m hurdles, just a tenth of a second off his personal best in 53.52 seconds. 

Taking third in the 800m run, freshman Ian Calvert crossed the line in 1:55.74.

Freshman Jamahl Burke took eighth in the 200m dash with a time of 22.68, and freshman Benu Meintjes came in ninth in the 400m dash with a time of 50.76 seconds. 

A little rest and recovery will be in order for the Chargers as they gear up for the Hillsdale College Gina Relays next weekend, beginning on Thursday, Apr. 22.
