The Series
Hillsdale leads the all-time series with the Warriors 37-15. The Chargers won last year's meeting in overtime 31-24, a game that saw Joe Reverman rush for 196 yards, and Todd Frickey intercepting a pass in the end zone to clinch the win in the season finale. Hillsdale hasn't won at Adams Field since 2003, and will try to break a five-game losing streak in its last regular season visit to that stadium.

Extra Points

  • Coming off last week's big win over Michigan Tech, the connection of QB Chance Stewart and WR Trey Brock have ascended to the top of the GLIAC statistical rankings. Stewart is averaging 302 passing yards per game, while Brock is averaging 131 receiving yards per game. Stewart has thrown for more than 300 yards in two of his three starts, while Brock has three 100-yard receiving games already this season.
  • On the other side of the ball, the Hillsdale defense will face the daunting task of dealing with the GLIAC's leading rusher, Wayne State's Romello Brown. He ran over Tiffin to the tune of 298 yards and 3 touchdowns in the Warriors' 35-21 win last week.
  • These teams have played one another every year since 1970, making it Hillsdale's longest uninterrupted rivalry. But with Hillsdale's move to the G-MAC next year, that streak will end after Saturday night's meeting.
  • Hillsdale's last win over Wayne State at Adams Field came on Oct. 11, 2003, but the Chargers beat the Warriors in the city of Detroit a year later. The two teams played at Ford Field on Nov. 6, 2004, a game Hillsdale won 37-10.
  • Keith Otterbein is the dean of GLIAC head football coaches. He's entering his 15th season coaching the Chargers (his alma mater), the longest tenure of any coach with his current program. Otterbein also coached at Ferris State from 1986-94, making 2016 his 24th season coaching in the GLIAC.
