Academic All-District Men's Basketball Release

For the second year in a row, Hillsdale College men's basketball senior Kyle Cooper has been named to the Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District Team for District 4.

The award, which has players nominated by institution's sports information directors, recognizes excellence in the classroom and on the basketball court. Nominees must have an overall grade point average of 3.30 or higher to be eligible.

Cooper was one of five players from District 4 (Midwest Region) to win this award. He's joined on the All-Academic Team by Michigan Tech's Kyle Stankowski, Lewis' Max Strus, Wisconsin-Parkside's Andy Mazurczak and Ohio Valley's David Sinickas.

An accounting major who has also won the GLIAC Commissioner's Award - also emblematic of academic and athletic success - Cooper leads the GLIAC in scoring and is second in rebounding. He is now eligible for Academic All-American status. A total of 40 men's basketball student athletes nationwide in Division II were named Academic All-District.

This is the first time in program history a player has been named Academic All-District twice.
