4 Chargers Named First-Team All-GLIAC

2012 All-GLIAC Football Release

November 14, 2012 – The Hillsdale College football team had to share the GLIAC North Division championship with three other teams. But four of the Charger players got to enjoy First-Team All-Conference accolades all by themselves.

Senior RB Joe Glendening, junior LB Brett Pasche, senior H-back Cam White and senior OL D.J. Loy were each named First-Team All-GLIAC by a vote of conference coaches Wednesday afternoon. This marks the second year in a row Glendening, White and Pasche have been named First-Team, while Loy's honor is his second career all-conference honor, and his first time landing on the first team.

Junior DB Nick Galvan was named Second-Team All-GLIAC, while junior LB Steven Embry, sophomore P Matt Eltringham, senior DB Ben Karaba, senior QB Anthony Mifsud, junior LB Devin Moynihan and sophomore DB Daniel Pittman earned honorable mention All-GLIAC honors.

Glendening, a regional finalist for the 2012 Harlon Hill Trophy, led the GLIAC in rushing for the third year in a row in 2012 (1,517 yards), and is the Chargers' all-time leading rusher with 4,772 yards to his credit.

Pasche finished second on the team in total tackles with 90, and led the team with four interceptions on the season. The fast, hard-hitting linebacker headlined a three-man unit that each earned all-conference accolades, a unit that figures to be a big strength of this team in 2013.

White's selection on the first team is a testament to the respect he earned from conference coaches. He caught 38 passes during the season, but missed the team's final 3 ½ games due to an injury suffered Oct. 20 versus Saginaw Valley State.

Loy was named honorable mention All-GLIAC last year, and took a big step forward as a senior in 2012. He was a four-year starter for the Chargers, moving from guard to center for the past two seasons. He blocked for a 1,400-yard rusher in all four of his seasons, and was the only senior on the offensive line this season.

Galvan returned from an injury-shortened 2011 season to become an impact player in the secondary once again for Hillsdale. He had three interceptions, broke up three passes, had 65 total tackles and was named the team's defensive player of the week a team-high four times.
