Provisional in 4x100 relay highlights Charger women's track and field's Reggie Thomas Classic performance

The Hillsdale College women's track and field team traveled to Tiffin, Ohio, for the Reggie Thomas Classic today. 

The 4x100m relay team of freshman Jillian Roney, junior Kajsa Johansson, and sophomores Alanna O'Leary and Zalonya Eby highlighted the meet with an NCAA Division II provisional time. These Chargers won the race in 46.71 seconds. 

Freshman Dakota Stamm and O'Leary packed a 1-2 finish in the 400m dash. They finished in 56.43 and 57.08, respectively. This was a lifetime personal best for O'Leary by more than a second. 

Freshman Grace Gottwalt also earned a big PR in the 100m hurdles. She won the event in 14.85 seconds. 

Hillsdale finished 2-3-4 in the 400m hurdles. Freshman Shura Ermakov led the way in 1:02.80, followed by freshman Judith Allison with a new personal best of 1:03.42, and junior Calli Townsend in 1:04.23. 

Adding the Hillsdale's list of first-place finishes was Eby in the 200m dash with a time of 25.30 seconds. Freshman Isabella Gutierrez finished sixth in a personal-best time of 26.09 seconds.

In the jumps, senior Alyssa Viola finished 10th in pole vault, clearing 3.00 meters, and sophomore Alexie Day took fifth in high jump with a mark of 1.60 meters. 

Nearing her personal best, sophomore Nikita Maines took third in shot put with a mark of 14.26 meters. 

The javelin throwers topped the competition with 2-3-4 finishes as well. Freshmen Eden Little and Peyton Panka led the way, throwing for 40.25 and 39.43 meters, respectively, which was a personal best for Panka. Sophomore Emma Shea finished fourth with a mark of 37.89 meters. In the hammer throw, Hillsdale freshman Katie Weldy took ninth (44.71 meters) and freshman Katie Sayles took 11th (44.12 meters) as well. 

The Chargers will return home next weekend for the Gina Relays, starting on Thursday, April 22.
