Chargers pick up second-straight win with 6-1 victory over Thomas More

The Hillsdale College women's tennis team finished a bounce-back weekend with another strong result on Sunday, taking down Thomas More 6-1 to improve to 2-0 in G-MAC play.

Building on yesterday's 7-0 win over Kentucky Wesleyan, the Chargers swept all three doubles matches, led by the No. 1 doubles team of Megan Hackman and Melanie Zampardo, which took a 6-2 victory. Hillsdale's No. 2 doubles team of Courtney Rittel and Ane Dannhauser took a 6-1 victory as well to clinch the doubles point, and the No. 3 doubles team of Libby McGivern and Helana Formentin completed the sweep without dropping a game in a 6-0 victory.

In singles play, Hillsdale quickly captured the first three matches to clinch the overall victory. Dannhauser won 6-4, 6-3 over TMU's Alexis Covington at No. 1 singles, and Zampardo took a dominant 6-0, 6-2 victory over the Saints' Dakota Schroeder at No. 2 singles. McGivern got stronger as the match wore on to win 6-0, 6-4 over Cassandra Saner at No. 3 singles, and Rittel and Isabella Spinazze closed out the match with 6-1, 6-0 victories at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.

Hillsdale is now 5-9 overall, 2-0 in G-MAC play and will look to stay unbeaten in conference action as it hits the road to play at Cedarville on Friday and at Ashland on Saturday.
