Chargers roll past Kentucky Wesleyan, remain undefeated in G-MAC play

The Hillsdale College women's tennis team made quick work of visiting Kentucky Wesleyan in a 7-0 victory on Saturday that moved the Chargers to 2-0 in G-MAC play.

Hillsdale took the doubles point over the shorthanded Panthers, getting 6-1 wins at both No. 1 doubles by the pairing of Sarah Hackman and Melanie Zampardo and at No. 2 doubles by the team of Canela Luna and Sophia Spinazze.

In singles play, Hackman led the way for the Chargers with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Lesleigh Lowman of KWC at No. 1 singles, and Libby McGivern picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win over the Panthers' Ashton Franz at No. 2 singles.

Also picking up wins for Hillsdale were Spinazze, who earned a 6-0, 6-0 win over Camron Blandford of KWC at No. 3 singles, and Ellie Chawner, who picked up a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Allie Mitchell of KWC at No. 4 singles as well.

The Chargers are now 6-6 overall and 2-0 in G-MAC play. Hillsdale hosts its final home match of the season next weekend, looking to earn a critical G-MAC victory over Cedarville on Saturday, April 2, heading into a long stretch of road matches against other G-MAC contenders to close out the regular season in April.
