Chargers' Elise Mason earns All-G-MAC honors for third straight year

2023-24 G-MAC All-Conference Team

Three seasons into her Hillsdale College women's swimming and diving career, junior Elise Mason continues to stand alone among distance swimmers in the G-MAC.

That's reflected once again in the G-MAC All-Conference honors for women's swimming and diving, as Mason earned first-team All-G-MAC honors for the third consecutive season on Tuesday afternoon.

Mason has 10 G-MAC/MEC Championship meet titles in her three years and added three more at the 2023 G-MAC/MEC Championships in February, winning the 500 freestyle, 1,000 freestyle and 1,650 freestyle all for the third consecutive year to earn Co-Swimmer of the Meet honors. In three seasons with the Chargers, Mason has never finished anywhere but first in those three events in the G-MAC/MEC Championships, including both prelims and finals.

The junior also had a strong performance at the 2024 NCAA DII Championships earlier this month, breaking her own school records in the 500 freestyle and 1,000 freestyle, and taking 17th in the 1,650 freestyle, one spot off of earning All-American honors in the event for the second straight season.  As well as holding the school records in all three distance events, Mason also is the G-MAC record holder both overall and at the G-MAC/MEC Championships in both the 1,000 freestyle and 1,650 freestyle.

Mason will return in 2024-25, looking to make it a clean sweep of distance titles for her career in the G-MAC, and also to return to the NCAA DII Championships and compete for All-American honors once again.
