Chargers fall to Lewis, Findlay in tri-meet

The Hillsdale College women swimming team took on two tough opponents in a tri-meet at Lewis University on Saturday, falling to both the host Flyers and G-MAC rival Findlay in dual meet action.

Although Hillsdale was topped by both squads, 152-110 to Findlay, and 163-99 to Lewis, the Chargers still had several decent finishes. Clifford also placed third in the 50 butterfly in 27.03.

Junior Elise Mason also had two runner-up finishes for the Chargers, placing second in the 500 freestyle in 5:14.35 and second in the 1,000 freestyle in 10:46.03. Freshman Isabel Ondracek was third close behind Mason in both events, finishing the 500 freestyle in 5:14.43 and the 1,000 freestyle in 10:50.74.

Senior Caroline Holmes took second for Hillsdale in the 200 freestyle in 1:57.44, and also placed third in the 200 backstroke in 2:11.18, while junior Emmalyse Dickhudt also had top three finishes in multiple events placing second in the 200 breaststroke in 2:30.14, and third in the 50 breaststroke in 31.50. Fellow junior Joanna Burnham took third behind Dickhudt in the 200 breaststroke in 2:32.20, and also placed third in the 200 individual medley, in 2:16.56.
