Charger women's swim team named Scholar All-Americans by CSCAA for 15th straight season

In the midst of one of the best seasons in program history, the Hillsdale College women's swimming and diving team hasn't forgotten to take care of business in the classroom, as well.

On Tuesday, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced that the Charger women's swimming and diving team has been selected as a Scholar All-America Team for the 15th consecutive year. The Chargers are one of 77 Division II women's swimming teams to earn this honor, and one of 728 men's and women's swimming and diving programs across all collegiate divisions.

In order to earn the Scholar All-America Team distinction, a team must carry a 3.0 or higher average GPA for the most recent semester, a bar the Chargers easily exceeded with a total team GPA of 3.43. The Chargers have earned this honor every single season of head coach Kurt Kirner's 15 year tenure, an accomplishment the program takes great pride in, and that continues to set the bar high for future Hillsdale women's swimming and diving teams.

In a CSCAA press release, Greg Earhart, CSCAA Executive Director, highlighted Hillsdale's achievements noting, "Coach Kirner continues, year-in, year-out to do great things. These 23 women are some of the best ambassadors that Hillsdale and the G-MAC could ask for."

The Chargers have had an extremely successful 2021-22 season so far, with a perfect 11-0 dual meet record that stretches their streak of consecutive dual meet victories to 15 dating back to the 2020-21 season. The Chargers compete this Sunday at the Butler Invitational as a final tune-up before the G-MAC/MEC Championships on Feb. 16-19 in Canton, Ohio, where Hillsdale will be the favorite to win its third straight conference title.
