Follow along with Charger freshman Elise Mason's NCAA DII Championships journey

After an epic G-MAC/MEC Championship meet performance that saw her earn Freshman of the Meet honors, Hillsdale College women's swimming and diving freshman Elise Mason is now taking on a new challenge.

Her time in the 1,650 freestyle earned Mason a qualifying berth to the NCAA DII National Championships at the Greensboro Aquatics Center in Greensboro, North Carolina, where Mason will compete in three events to become the first NCAA All-American in women's swimming at Hillsdale College since Anika Ellingson in 2019.

Maon is scheduled to swim in three events, beginning on Wednesday, March 9 in the first 10 a.m. ET morning session in the 1,000 freestyle. Mason is seeded 35th in the event with a time of 10:21.74. Mason also will be competing in the 500 freestyle prelims in the 10 a.m. morning session on Friday, March 11, with a shot of earning a spot in the finals at 6 p.m. later that night. The freshman is seeded 37th in the 500 frestyle with a seed time of 5:01.19.

Finally, Mason will close out her NCAA Championships run on Saturday, March 12 in her signature event, the 1,650 freestyle, during the 10 a.m. ET session on the final day. Mason is seeded 22nd in the event, with a seed time of 17:11.51, and needs to get into the top 16 to earn All-American honors.
