2023-24 G-MAC Women's Basketball Tournament Bracket

2023-24 G-MAC Men's Basketball Tournament Bracket

Both the Hillsdale College women's and men's basketball teams will be playing postseason basketball in 2024.

At the conclusion of the regular season on Saturday, both women's and men's basketball squads finished in the top eight in the final Great Midwest Athletic Conference standings, earning a berth to the G-MAC Tournament. For the women, it's their second straight season making the G-MAC Tourney, while the men have played in every edition of the G-MAC Tournament since joining the conference in 2017-18.

Both squads earned the fifth seed after tiebreakers and will be hitting the road for the quarterfinal round on Tuesday, March 5, with both squads traveling to the fourth-seeded Thomas More Saints in Crestview Hills, Kentucky to play a doubleheader, with the women taking on the Saints at 5:30 p.m., and the men playing at 7:30 p.m. With a victory, Hillsdale would advance to the semifinal round on Friday, March 8 on the campus of the highest remaining seed after the quarterfinal round. Both the semifinals and finals will be played at the same location on Friday and Saturday, as in past years in the G-MAC Tournament.

Hillsdale's women are 17-11, 13-7 in the G-MAC and enter the tournament on a tear, having won 11 of their last 14 games to finish in a three-way tie for fourth place, their best regular season conference finish since 2008-09. One of the teams Hillsdale tied with is their opponent on Tuesday, Thomas More, who also is playing well with wins in seven of their last 10 games. The Saints, in their first season in the G-MAC after moving to NCAA DII from the NAIA, split with Hillsdale this year, beating the Chargers 65-55 on Hillsdale's home floor on Jan. 4, and then falling to Hillsdale at home, 69-60, on Jan. 13.

On the men's side, Hillsdale finished tied for third place in the league with Cedarville at 18-9 overall and 13-7 in G-MAC play, making this the seventh-straight season Hillsdale has finished in the top three in the final G-MAC standings. However, the G-MAC's Points Rating System, used by the conference to seed the tournament, did not look favorably on Hillsdale's resume, dropping the Chargers to fifth in the seeding by a narrow margin behind the Yellow Jackets and Thomas More, and forcing Hillsdale to hit the road for the quarterfinal. The Charger men also closed the season well, winning five of their last six games, and face a tough opponent in the Saints, who split with the Chargers in the regular season. Thomas More won on the road at Hillsdale, hitting a free throw with 0.5 seconds to go to take a 71-70 victory on Jan. 4, but the Chargers got their revenge with a 73-65 victory at Thomas More on Jan. 13.
