Chargers earn Academic Team Honor Roll Honorable Mention from WBCA

The Hillsdale College women's basketball team made big strides on the court in the 2021-22 season, improving by nine wins over the previous season's records.

Off the court, they were as excellent as ever, as the latest honor from the Women's Basketball Coaches Association shows.

The WBCA announced its 2021-22 Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls on Wednesday, honoring women's basketball teams in each division who achieved a 3.0 or better cumulative GPA for the 27th consecutive season.

The Chargers made the cut with an impressive 3.538 GPA, earning honorable mention honors among NCAA Division II programs.

Thirteen of Hillsdale's 17 players -- an impressive 76.5% -- have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or better, and every single Hillsdale player finished the spring semester with a 3.0 or better average in 2022. That's been a common story for the Charger women's basketball team, which consistently ranks as one of the highest combined team GPAs on campus among all the sports Hillsdale offers.

The Chargers open up play in November, looking to build on last season's accomplishments and return to the G-MAC Tournament for the first time since the 2018-19 season with an experienced and talented roster.
