The Hillsdale College men's track and field team competed in two events at the Harrison Dillard Twilight meet hosted by Baldwin-Wallace University on Friday, in its final event before the NCAA DII Outdoor Championships field is announced on Tuesday.
The Chargers' G-MAC title-winning 4x400m relay team of Sean Fagan, Jamahl Burke, Ian Calvert and Benu Meintjes continued a strong season by winning the event on Friday, in 3:13.65, just a few-tenths of a second off their best mark of the season.
Another G-MAC champion, freshman Kyle MacBeth, also competed at Friday's meet, taking second in the javelin with a throw of 56.71 meters.
Both Hillsdale 4x400m relay team and MacBeth are among several Hillsdale athletes with a provisional qualifying time that will give them consideration for the 2022 NCAA DII Outdoor Championships, scheduled to take place on May 26-28 at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. The field for the championship meet will be announced on Tuesday, May 17 at 6 p.m. on NCAA.com.
