Chargers sweep past Thomas More, 7-0, for second-straight G-MAC victory

The Hillsdale College men's tennis team capped off a perfect weekend in impressive fashion on Sunday, sweeping past visiting Thomas More 7-0 without dropping a set.

The victory completes a homestand that saw the Chargers pick up two G-MAC wins without giving either opponent a point or losing a set.

In their first-ever meeting with Thomas More, new to the conference in 2024, the Chargers set the tone early with three wins in doubles to secure the doubles point. Hillsdale's top team of Aidan Pack and Sean Barstow and its No. 2 doubles team of Ellis Klanduch and Tyler Conrad each took 6-3 victories to lock up the point, and the No. 3 doubles team of Henry Hammond and Daniel Gilbert completed the sweep with a 6-2 victory over the Saints.

In singles play, Pack completed an undefeated weekend at the No. 1 spot with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Thomas More's Samuel Mimbrero Lendinez, while Conrad fought off a challenge at No. 2 singles to take a 7-5, 6-4 victory over the Saints' Sergio San Pablo.

Barstow picked up a smooth 6-3, 6-3 victory over TMU's Juan Pablo Villagrana at No. 3 singles as well for the Chargers, while Klanduch dispatched the Saints' Jackson Poulos 6-4, 6-2 at No. 4 singles, and Hammond took a 7-5, 6-4 win over Anderson McDowell at No. 5 singles.

Gilbert wrapped up the match with a dominant 6-1, 6-0 victory over TMU's Eliott Burer at No. 6 singles to complete the sweep.

Hillsdale is now 7-6 overall, 2-0 in the G-MAC and hits the road for matches at Cedarville on Friday and Ashland on Saturday over Easter weekend.
