Charger men's golf team receives 2021-22 GCAA Outstanding Team Academic honors

While excelling on the course, the Hillsdale College men's golf team continues to achieve in the classroom as well.

The Chargers were recognized by the Golf Coaches Association of America as a 2021-22 Outstanding Team Academic Award Recipient, in honor of a strong academic performance across the board in the past school year.

In order to receive Team Academic recognition from the GCAA, a team must carry a 3.0 or better average GPA across all members of its squad for the 2021-22 school year, a mark the Chargers easily surpassed this past season.

It's an honor Hillsdale earned for the eighth consecutive season with only the pandemic-related cancellation of the 2020 spring campaign preventing the Chargers from making it nine seasons in a row to win the honor.

The Chargers will return several players from last year's squad, headlined by seniors and All-G-MAC honorees Gerry Jones, Jr. and Drew Gandy, for the 2022-23 season, which kicks off in September. Hillsdale will be looking to return to the NCAA Tournament after just barely missing the cut last season, and to contend for a G-MAC title after top four finishes in each of the last two seasons.
