Charger men’s basketball team adds Ashton Janowski to Class of 2026

In recent years, the Hillsdale College men's basketball team has added considerably to its trophy case, with back-to-back conference championships in the past two seasons.

To help keep that run going, the Chargers continue to add quality players with a championship pedigree of their own, and that's exactly what Hillsdale is getting in signee Ashton Janowski of Pewaukee, Wisconsin.

The combo guard displayed a well-rounded offensive game in helping lead the Pewaukee High Pirates to the 2021 WIAA Division 2 state title as a junior, the first men's basketball state crown in school history.

Janowski averaged 13.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and three assists per game on the year for Pewaukee, displaying plenty of ability to get to the basket off the dribble as well as elite shooting touch from 3-point range, shooting 46 percent from deep for the season.

The 6-2 guard played his best ball during Pewaukee's WIAA Tournament run, scoring a game-high 19 points in the Pirates' 54-37 win over previously unbeaten Onalaska in the Division 2 championship game.

Janowski isn't the first player from Pewaukee to sign with Hillsdale for men's basketball. When he arrives on campus next fall, he'll be joining former Pirate Jack Gohlke on the roster.
