Starting Tiesday, April 2 - All students should complete 6 total classes during the session with coaches at the appropriate level*. Classes are offered every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday until Wednesday, April 17. All coaches are current Hillsdale College swimmers and/or trained lifeguards.
Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesday:
6:00-6:20 p.m. Preschool 1 Group 1 (ages 2-5) Learn to Swim
6:20-6:40 p.m. Preschool 1 Group 2 (2-5) Learn to Swim
6:40-7:00 p.m. Preschool 2 (Ages 2-5) Learn to Swim
7:00-7:30 p.m. Level 1 (5 & up) Beginner | Level 2 (5 & up) Beginner
7:00-7:30 p.m. Level 3 (5 & up) Intermediate | Level 4 (5 & up) Intermediate | Level 5 (5 & up) Advanced

*Preschool 1 Learn to Swim- Instructor holds student to complete skills.
- Comfortable in the water
- Combined arm and feet action
- Blowing bubbles
- Comfortable floating on back
Preschool 2 Learn to Swim-Instructor holds student to complete skills ONLY IF NEEDED.
- Gliding on front and back
- Rolling from front to back
- Combined arm and leg movement
Level 1 Beginner- Independent in the water
- Can put face fully in the water
- Swims at least 5 body lengths on front
- Can keep head above water while treading water for 15 seconds
- Float independently for 15 seconds
Level 2 Beginner- Independent in the water
- Independently jumps into the water
- Can grab items from the bottom of the shallow end
- Changes directions while swimming
- Attempts to turn head to breathe while swimming
Level 3 Intermediate
- Can swim full length of the pool independently (can take breaks)
- Float for 1 minute
- Can jump into the deep end
Level 4 Intermediate
- Freestyle 25 yards
- Backstroke 15 yards
- Treading water for 3 minutes
- Shallow dive
- Underwater swimming for 5 yards
Level 5 Advanced
- Dolphin kick
- Breaststroke kick
- Treading water 5 minutes
- Swim freestyle and backstroke 25 yards
