After capturing the 2017 Great Midwest Athletic Conference championship in its first season as a league member, the Hillsdale College women's cross country team was picked to repeat.
The Chargers earned 13 of a possible 14 first-place votes in the G-MAC Women's Cross Country Preseason poll, released by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.
Hillsdale brings back a wealth of talent from last year's championship team, led by senior Allysen Eads, juniors Arena Lewis and Addison Rausch and sophomores Maryssa Depies and Christina Sawyer. Three freshmen join this powerhouse program in 2018 as well.
Hillsdale will have a home regular season meet October 6, and will act as the host for the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championships on Saturday, November 17.
