TOURNAMENT PREVIEW: Coming off a terrific performance in its opening weekend of the season, the 19th-ranked Hillsdale College volleyball team comes home to host an early season tournament for the second time in three years...The action gets started Thursday night with a key regional matchup versus Ashland University at 6:00...Ashland and Hillsdale, old GLIAC rivals, met twice last season, with the Eagles winning both matchups...Hillsdale is 3-1 on the season while the Eagles are the lone undefeated team participating in the tournament, having gone 4-0 on opening weekend...One other nationally ranked team, No, 16 Palm Beach Atlantic, makes the trip north and will match up with the Chargers in the final contest of the tournament Saturday night...Other participating teams are the University of Findlay, Clarion and Northwood...Charger junior Allyssa Van Wienen was named the G-MAC Offensive Player of the Week after a marverlous performance on opening weekend, highlighted by a 21-kill, 7-block match in the 3-2 win over #5 Concordia-St. Paul...There will be a minimnum of 40 minutes between matches and a maximum of 60 minutes, with a three-minute break between all sets...Hillsdale will play four matches on its home court this weekend, but only has five more scheduled through the regular season.
