G-MAC Volleyball Statistics

OVERVIEW

  • The first-place Hillsdale College volleyball team will look to extend its current winning streak to double figures with a pair of home matches this weekend, against the two southern-most programs in the G-MAC
  • Hillsdale has won nine in a row overall and 24 straight conference matches, dating back to last season...The G-MAC winning streak now extends more than one full calendar year
  • The Chargers have yet to play a five-set match this year...The team has won 18 straight sets, a streak that began in the second set of the Sept. 14 win at Findlay
  • The last time Hillsdale lost a set by more than three points was the first set at Ferris State back on Aug. 25 (25-17)
  • These two matches end a three-match homestand...Starting with next weekend's Midwest Region Crossover, the Chargers will play eight straight matches away from home, spanning from Oct. 12-27
  • Two players - setter Lindsey Mertz and right-side hitter Paige VanderWall - lead the conference in individual statistics...Mertz averages 11.44 assists per set while VanderWall averages 3.85 kills per set
  • Junior libero Taylor Wiese notched back-to-back 30-dig matches in last weekend's wins over Cedarville and Tiffin...She's the first Charger player to achieve that since the NCAA went to the rally score format in 2001
  • Wiese was named the G-MAC West Player of the Week Monday...She's a rarity in a libero winning the award...She's the first Charger libero to be named a conference player of the week since Megan Howard in 2005
  • Hillsdale's 55 kills and 51 assists as a team vs. Tiffin last Saturday were a single-match highs in the conference this year for a three-set match
  • Kentucky Wesleyan has three matches this season with 100 or more digs as a team
  • Trevecca ranks 13th in the conference in opponents' service aces per set (2.11)
