G-MAC Volleyball Statistics

VOLLEYS:

  • Thursday's match is both the 2018 home opener and G-MAC opener for the Chargers. Hillsdale defeated Ohio Valley 3-0 last year in the first-ever conference matchup between the schools.
  • Hillsdale plays two matches at a tournament Findlay holds just about every year, facing former conference foe Ashland Friday and regional opponent Missouri-St. Louis Saturday.
  • The Chargers were third among the "others receiving votes" area of the AVCA Division II Top 25 poll for the second consecutive week. Hillsdale played three top-25 opponents last weekend, defeating #17 Winona State while losing in four sets to #2 Concordia-St. Paul and #4 Ferris State.
  • Three of the team's four freshmen - Karoline Shelton, Emma Noskey and Samantha Malcolm - made their collegiate debuts at last weekend's Ferris State Tournament.
  • Senior Paige VanderWall had one of her best matches of her career against defending national champion Concordia-St. Paul last Thursday, recording 18 kills with just one error
  • Senior Kara Vyletel recorded her 1,000th career kill in Friday's win over Clarion. She is just the ninth player in program history to record 1,000 kills in a career, and she's the first to do it since Emily Wolfert in 2015.
