Kara Vyletel Earns G-MAC Honor

One of the best offensive players in Hillsdale College history got recognized for her production Monday afternoon.

Senior outside hitter Kara Vyletel was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference West Division Player of the Week award. The honor was announced and chosen by the conference office.

Vyletel is the fourth player on the team to be named G-MAC Player of the Week this season, joining Taylor WieseLindsey Mertz and Paige VanderWall. She's also the 15th different Charger to win a conference weekly award this fall.

Across a 3-0 weekend, Vyletel put down 41 kills, averaging 3.7 kills per set. She also had a .361 hitting percentage in helping Hillsdale to 3-0 wins over Tiffin and Ursuline and a 3-1 win over Lake Erie, making the team 14-0 in the G-MAC.

Vyletel's 1,231 career kills rank fourth on Hillsdale's career list, and she needs 9 more kills to achieve four 250-plus kill seasons, a rare accomplishment. She is a native of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
