The Margot V. Biermann Athletic Center will be buzzing with athletes, start guns, cheers and fast times all weekend as it plays host to the Wide Track Classic, held on the campus of Hillsdale College.
Competition begins with multi events starting at noon Friday. Friday afternoon features open races like the 60, 200 and 3000. Beginning at 7:15 Friday there will be championship events featuring the 5000, 3000, 200 and distance medley relays.
The action continues all day Saturday with the final stage of multi events starting at 9 a.m. Field events continue through the morning,with running events restarting at 12:30. The two-day meet concludes with the 4x400 relays at 5 p.m.
More than 20 univeristies and colleges will be represented at this year's meet. It also represents another chance for Charger athletes to continue dropping times and increasing distances in their events, a trend that has been going in a positive direction as the indoor season crosses the midway point. Hillsdale has one more home meet, scheduled for Feb. 22, before the conference indoor championships take place Feb. 28-29.
