Megan Hackman signs with Charger women's tennis team; joins 2022-23 recruiting class

The Hackman family has made a significant impact over the last four years of Hillsdale College men's and women's tennis, with siblings Brian and Sarah playing a role on a combined four G-MAC championship teams and bringing home three total individual All-G-MAC honors.

On Thursday, Megan Hackman, Brian and Sarah's younger sister, ensured that that family legacy will continue for four more years at Hillsdale College, signing her letter of intent to play tennis for the Charger women's team beginning in the fall of 2022.

The younger Hackman is a strong tennis player in her own right who's excelled as a four-time Illinois High School Association state qualifier for four straight seasons at Wauconda High School. A two-time all-state player in doubles, Hackman helped Wauconda to back-to-back team conference championships and finished in the top eight in the state in Class 1A in doubles this past fall. For her career, Hackman posted a 105-19 record at Wauconda, along with a 30-2 record in the Fall of 2020.

Along with her tennis acumen, Hackman is also a strong student, earning NLCC All-Academic Honors, the Scholastic Achievement Award, and the Scholar Athlete award for her performance in the classroom as well as on the court.

She'll join a young squad that is looking to add to its G-MAC trophy case in the spring and return to the NCAA Tournament, with several top players slated to return in 2022-23 to build around. Megan will add to that mix and her extensive doubles experience could help add a new dimension to the Charger lineup early on.
