Last week, the Hillsdale College women's tennis team hosted a tournament with three other participating teams as it wrapped up home play. Sophomore Sarah Hackman played as well as anyone present that day, and Thursday, was rewarded for her efforts.
Hackman was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week. The award was announced and chosen by the conference office.
In the Hillsdale Invite, played at the Mary Jane Delp Courts, Hackman went 4-0 in combined singles and doubles play, winning the B doubles flight with partner Katie Bell, and winning the B singles flight. Hackman and Bell recorded wins of 6-1 over St. Mary's and 7-6 over G-MAC rival Tiffin.
In singles play, Hackman picked up victories over Judson 6-1, 6-1 and Tiffin 4-6, 6-3, 10-5 to earn that flight championship.
Hackman is the fifth Charger to earn G-MAC player of the week honors this week alone, and her's is the 14th weekly conference award earned by a Charger player during the 2019-20 school year.
