The Charger women's tennis team opened the fall portion of its schedule with a long weekend of competition at the ITA Regionals, hosted by Davenport University in Grand Rapids.
Senior Katie Bell had a good run through the consolation B bracket, advancing three rounds, featured by wins over Lewis and Davenport in that bracket. Fellow senior Kamryn Matthews won her opening-round match in the women's singles main draw, defeating her foe from Saginaw Valley State.
Freshman Canela Luna had a very good day in that same draw, posting wins over Missouri-St. Louis and Purdue-Northwest.
Sophomore Sophia Spinazze also had a good run through the women's B singles consolation draw, picking up wins over Ferris State, Saginaw Valley State and Bellarmine.
Matthews and her younger sister, Hillsdale newcomer Tatum Matthews, won a match over Cedarville in the B doubles main draw. The full bracket of results can be found in the link above.
