As the Hillsdale College women's tennis team solidifies its grip on first place in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, players on the team continue to rack up individual honors.
Sophomore Hannah Cimpeanu was named the G-MAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the second time this season. The award was announced and chosen by the conference office Wednesday afternoon. Cimpeanu previously won the award on February 13.
Last week, the Chargers went on the road and picked up a pair of shutout victories over Ursuline and Walsh, and Cimpeanu was a driving force in those wins. She played at No. 1 singles in both and emerged with quick wins. She teamed up with freshman Sarah Hackman for a 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles in the win over the Cavaliers Saturday night.
Cimpeanu was the 2018 G-MAC Freshman of the Year and has helped lead Hillsdale to a 9-2 record and 3-0 in conference play so far this season.
