One of the first weekends Sarah Hackman competed as a collegiate tennis player turned out to be good enough for her to pick up her first conference weekly honor.
Hackman, a freshman on the Hillsdale College women's tennis team, was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week. The award was announced and chosen by the conference office Wednesday morning.
At the Northwest Ohio Invite, held in Lima, Ohio last weekend, Hackman earned two wins in singles competition and teamted up with Hannah Cimpeanu to go 3-0 in doubles action. Hackman picked up singles flight wins over Tiffin and Northwest Ohio. Hackman and Cimpeanu beat two different Tiffin doubles teams in the tournament as well.
