The Hillsdale College women's tennis team wrapped up a successful first road trip of the 2016 season with a dominant 8-1 win over Ashland University Sunday afternoon.
The Chargers are now 2-0 on the season.
For the second consecutive match, the team's freshmen each won both of their matches. Kamryn Matthews and Katie Bell (pictured) teamed up at No. 3 doubles for an 8-1 victory. Bell turned in a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles, while Matthews was victorious at No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-2.
Sophomore Halle Hyman broke into the win column in both singles and doubles aginst the Eagles, posting a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles, and an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles, getting help from sophomore partner Corinne Prost.
Prost stepped in at No. 3 singles and breezed to a 6-0, 6-1 victory.
Sophomore Madeline Bissett brought home a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles, and sophomore Julia Formentin won her first match of the new year, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 singles.
The Chargers moved to 2-0 for the second consecutive season.
UP NEXT: Hillsdale returns to Ohio next weekend to face Findlay and Tiffin.
