September 30, 2012 - The evolution of the Hillsdale College women's tennis team is rapidly unfolding before our eyes.

The Chargers marched into Tiffin University's tennis courts Sunday morning and came away with an impressive 6-3 win, their third in their past four dual matches. Hillsdale now stands at 3-4 overall and in the GLIAC. Two of Hillsdale's wins on the three-game Ohio road trip came to teams who were - at the time - ahead of it in the conference standings. The one loss came by the narrowest of margins, 5-4, to 7-1 Ashland.

Hillsdale has now matched its dual-match win total from its first revival season of 2011, and the team has three straight home matches coming up this weekend, starting with Friday afternoon against Michigan Tech.

In the win over the Dragons, the Chargers were perfect in doubles matches for the first time in their new history. Brittany Parks and Morgan Delp (No. 1), Sydney Delp and Lindsay Peirce (No. 2) and Rachel Blaauw and Shannon O'Hearn (No. 3) were all victorious. Delp and Peirce enjoyed their most decisive win of the season, 8-0, while Blaauw and O'Hearn, both freshmen, won as a pair for the first time this season, 8-5.

A highlight in the singles flight came from junior Morgan Linden, who earned her first career 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles over Tiffin's Renee Mattson.

Parks was victorious at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 7-6, while Sydney Delp wrapped up her finest week of the season with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles.
