September 16, 2012 - The Hillsdale College women's tennis team has gotten progressively closer to its first win as a tem leading up to Sunday's GLIAC match at Findlay. But on this day, the Chargers knocked that door down with authority.
The Chargers improved to 1-3 with a dominating 7-2 win over the host Oilers.
All seven of Hillsdale's wins came in straight sets, and the Chargers didn't lose a single set between No. 1 singles and Nos. 1 and 2 doubles.
Senior Brittany Parks won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, and teamed up with sophomore Morgan Delp for an 8-0 shutout at No. 1 doubles.
The No. 2 doubles combination of freshmen Sydney Delp and Lindsay Peirce also fashioned an 8-0 victory. It was easily the most dominating effort of the season for these two talented freshman.
Freshman Rachel Blaauw earned her first win as a Charger, coming at No. 5 singles, in a 6-1, 6-0 win. Morgan Delp, Sydney Delp and Peirce were all victorious at 2,3, and 4 singles, respectively.
