Chargers women's swim team earns 16th straight Scholar All-American honors from CSCAA

The Hillsdale College women's swimming and diving team extended a long-running tradition for another season this fall.

Earlier this month,  the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced that the Charger women's swimming and diving team has been selected as a Scholar All-America Team for the 16th consecutive year. The Chargers are one of 80 Division II women's swimming teams to earn this honor, and one of 804 men's and women's swimming and diving programs representing 479 institutions across all collegiate divisions.

In order to earn the Scholar All-America Team distinction, a team must carry a 3.0 or higher average GPA for the most recent semester, a bar the Chargers easily exceeded with a total team GPA of 3.31. The Chargers have earned this honor every single season of head coach Kurt Kirner's 16 year tenure, an accomplishment the program takes great pride in, and that continues to set the bar high for future Hillsdale women's swimming and diving teams.

Hillsdale wrapped up another strong campaign in the pool last week, finishing runner-up at the G-MAC/MEC Championships while winning multiple individual titles. The Chargers now wait to see who will represent Hillsdale at the NCAA Division II Championships in March in Indianapolis, Indiana, with four athletes who swam B-cut times this year in contention for a spot in the field. The NCAA will announce the Championship field on Wednesday, Feb. 20.
