Charger women's swim stays unbeaten with dual-meet win over host Olivet, 148-70

On Saturday afternoon, half of the Hillsdale women's swimming and diving team traveled to Olivet College for a 16-event dual meet. The Chargers won 148-70 over the host Comets and broke two Olivet College pool records.

Freshman Cecilia Guadalupi won all of her events and broke  both the 200 breaststroke pool record with a time of 2:28.18 and the 200 IM pool record with a time of 2:11.42. Guadalupi also won the 200 freestyle by 8 seconds (1:57.94).

The Chargers had close competition among each other in the 200 backstroke. Freshman Amy Mills finished first (2:19.16), sophomore Sydney Slepian second (2:20.69), and sophomore Stefanie Walker third (2:21.21).

Charger distance swimmers had strong swims in both distance events. Sophomore Sarah Clark won the 1.000 freestyle by 10 seconds (11:01.42), and freshman Sarah Patancizek placed second (11:11.79).

In the 500 freestyle, freshman Caroline Holmes placed first (5:24.06), S. Clark second (5:27.86), and junior Maddie Breay third (5:38.85).

Holmes continued her winning streak in the 100 freestyle (55.79), and freshman Libby Stacey finished third (1:01.84).

In the 100 backstroke, Mills had her second win of the day (1:06.74), and junior Becca Briskey finished second (1:11.38).

In the 100 butterfly, junior Stefanie Walker had a strong back half to finish first (1:03.82), and freshman Phoebe Johnston had a close second (1:04.13).

The 200 medley A-relay of Slepian, Douthitt, Johnston, Guadalupi placed first (1:56.87) and the B-relay of Buchanan, Breay, Walker, and Briskey placed second (1:58.66).

In the 200 freestyle, Breay had a strong second place finish (2:05.85). In the 100 breaststroke, sophomore Hannah Douthitt placed second (1:13.37) and Slepian placed third (1:16.63). In the 200 IM, Mills finished third (2:19.46).
