Charger swim team posts more strong times in second virtual meet

This Saturday, the Charger swim team held their second virtual meet as part of the CSCAA Fall Virtual Cup Meet Series. All results were submitted electronically to the CSCAA and will be compared with time results from other teams across the country and scored once completed.

The 200 medley A-relay of Katherine Heeres, Cecilia Guadalupi, Emma Rao, and Marie Taylor took first (1:52.58), and the B-relay of Caroline Holmes, Taylor Boyle, Stefanie Walker, and Rebecca Briskey was second (1:55.27).

Four chargers were under 5:25 in the 500 freestyle. Freshman Amy Mills had a strong back half of her race and finished first (5:20.22). Sophomore Madison Pyhel took second (5:22.04), sophomore Leah Tunney had a close third (5:22.63), and sophomore Sarah Clark was fourth (5:24.96).

Junior Anna Clark won the 100 butterfly (1:01.71) after a quick turnaround from swimming the 500 freestyle. Freshman Phoebe Johnston had a very close second place finish (1:01.89), and sophomore Marie Taylor went a best time and finished third (1:03.92).

Freshman Caroline Holmes won the 100 backstroke (1:00.11), Tunney took second (1:01.97), and senior Katherine Heeres was third (1:03.28).

Freshman Cecilia Guadalupi won the 100 breaststroke (1:09.37), junior Taylor Boyle took second (1:11.96), and junior Madeline Breay was third (1:13.96).

Hillsdale has another virtual meet scheduled for Oct. 28 at 4 p.m., and will begin in-person competition on Nov. 7 with a meet at Findlay against the Oilers and Lewis.
