Chargers Drop Road Contest to Ursuline

The Ursuline College women's basketball team pulled away in the fourth quarter of a 74-57 win over Hillsdale College Saturday afternoon in Pepper Pike, Ohio. The loss dropped Hillsdale to 6-20 overall and 3-14 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

The 2019-20 season wraps up for the Chargers next Saturday at the University of Findlay.  

The Arrows took a two-point lead at the end of the first quarter and gradually built upon that throughout the game, outscoring the Chargers in all four quarters.

Hillsdale shot 37.5 percent in each of the first three quarters, but missed 16 of its 20 shots in the fourth quarter, when Ursuline outscored the Chargers 18-9 and got some distance from the visiting team on the scoreboard.

Senior Julia Wacker had 10 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and a block for the Chargers while sophomore Lauren Daffenberg led the team with 13 points. She grabbed 6 rebounds in the loss.

Junior Jaycie Burger swished three 3-point field goals and had 9 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Grace Touchette and Sydney Anderson scored 7 points each, and freshman Arianna Sysum played in a career-high 21 minutes.
