The basketball career of Charger great Allie Dewire continues.

Earlier this week Dewire, a three-year starter and all-conference point guard who recently completed her playing career at Hillsdale College, signed a contract with the Toledo Threat, a semi-pro basketball team that plays in the Women's Blue Chip Basketball League.

The Threat's season runs primarily in the summer. Dewire joins a roster in which she is the only Division II player. Four of her new teammates played at Ohio State University, while others hail from programs like Syracuse, Purdue, Cincinnati, Nebraska and Eastern Michigan.

Dewire tried out for the team on March 31, and the next day, found out she made the team.

In her college career, Dewire helped lead the Chargers to the 2018 G-MAC Tournament championship while scoring 1,237 points with 485 rebounds and 305 assists in 106 career games. In 2018-19 she was named First-Team All-Conference and landed a spot on the G-MAC All-Defensive Team. An ultra-quick point guard, Dewire was part of a class that had three 1,000-point scorers, the first such class in Charger women's basketball since the senior class of 2006-07. As a senior, Dewire achieved career-highs in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.4), rebounds (153) and points (385).
