January 26, 2013 - Returning home was most theraputic for the Hillsdale College women's basketball team.

After a grinding stretch of the schedule that featured six out of seven games on the road, the Chargers returned to the friendly confines of Jesse Philips Arena, and put together their best offensive game of the season in an 83-67 win over Walsh University Saturday afternoon.

Hillsdale is now 7-10 overall and 4-10 in the GLIAC with the win. The Chargers will be back home next Saturday, Feb. 2, to host the University of Findlay.

As a team, the Chargers looked loose and comfortable, and smartly passed the ball around on offense, getting good shot attempts at the basket for a wide variety of players. Three different players achieved new career-highs in scoring in the win for Hillsdale.

Sophomore guard Brooke Borowski scored a career-high 17 points in 29 minutes off the bench to lead the team. She was 5-for-10 from the field, made five free throws and swished a pair of 3-point shots. She also had three assists and was very active at both ends of the court.

Freshman Sarah Theut has been rapidly improving over the past couple weeks and turned in another game-changing performance for the Chargers Saturday. She came off the bench to score a career-high 16 points, making a career-best four 3-point field goals. She also grabbed six rebounds in 24 minutes and was a strong presence defensively for the team, drawing a charge at a point in the game where Walsh was trying to keep momentum swining too far in Hillsdale's favor.

Junior Lyndsay LaCourse also set a new career-high in scoring with 7, and she also rainbowed in two 3-point baskets.

As a team, the Chargers were 9-for-18 from long distance (50 percent), and shot 59 percent from the field overall.

The game was tied 55-55 with 9:43 to play, but the Chargers dominated down the stretch, outscoring the Cavaliers 28-12 in the game's final nine minutes. Theut's fourth 3-pointer of the game was the shot that got the run going for Hillsdale.

Sophomore Megan Fogt played smartly through foul trouble, especially in the second half, when she scored 11 of her 16 points for the Chargers. She made all six of her shots form the field and all four of her free throws, putting together the basketball version of a perfect game. She grabbed eight rebounds and had a block and a steal.

Junior Angela Bisaro also showed renewed offensive aggressiveness, going 5-for-7 from the field in a fine all-around contest. She had 14 points, seven rebounds, six assist, one blocked shot and just one turnover, as she played in space as effectively as she has all season.

Hillsdale scored 48 points in the second half, by far the most it's had in any second half this season.
