Charger shotgun sports team members perform well in Detroit Gun Club events

The Hillsdale College Shotgun team traveled to Detroit Gun Club to shoot in two of their registered shoots on August 28th and September 11th. Both events offered two separate 100-target sporting clays courses, Red and Blue.

Sophomore Josh Corbin led the team on the blue course of the August event, tying the high score of the shoot with a perfect 100-straight. Senior Ida Brown took second place in A Class while freshman Jordan Sapp finished third in B Class. The Chargers had a perfect sweep of C Class with freshman Davis Hay, sophomore Gavin Drill, and freshman Leif Andersen respectively earning C1, C2, and C3.

On the red course, Corbin tied for first in AA Class. Brown finished A3 and Drill was third in C Class.

On September's blue course, Corbin earned first in AA Class while Brown took first place in A Class. Sophomore Kyle Fleck was B1 while freshman Jordan Sapp and junior Will Stuart both tied for B2. The trio of Drill, Andersen, and Hay again swept C class, this time respectively finishing first, second, and third. Sophomore Jonathan Calabrese tied for first in D Class.

Corbin again took AA1 on the red course. Senior Woody Glazer finished third in A Class. Fleck and Sapp tied for B1 while Drill earned C3 and Calabrese won second in D Class.

The Chargers next look forward to hosting the Michigan College State Shoot on October 1st at Hillsdale's own Halter Center.
