2019 ACUI Eastern Super Shoot

2019 ACUI Eastern Super Shoot

The Hillsdale College Shotgun Sports Team travelled to the Nashville Gun Club from November 16-17 to compete in the Association of College Unions International’s Eastern Super Shoot. This event saw 17 teams and more than 200 athletes compete. Even without the senior member of the team, the Chargers still performed well and took home multiple accolades.

As a team, Hillsdale ended up fourth overall with a total of 1601/1750. This competition lacked divisional distinctions, but Hillsdale still scored 47 targets higher than the next Division III program. They also placed second overall in American Skeet (483/500) and third overall in Super Sporting (223/250).

Individually, the Chargers performed very well. Freshman Woodrow Glazer tied for first place in American Trap (100/100) as well as fourth place High Overall. Freshman Ida Brown tied for first in ladies American Skeet (98/100) and also finished fifth place in ladies HOA. Sophomore Thomas Rodgers tied for the gold medal in Super Sporting (48/50).

“Although our score definitely reflects that we were missing our team’s only senior, overall we performed very well on an individual level,” said head coach Jordan Hintz. “When you look at the High Overall scoreboard, you see Hillsdale names right up at the top and I’m excited to see where we go from here.”
