Erin Hunt Wins First G-MAC Pitcher of the Week Award

Freshman pitcher Erin Hunt recorded the first two conference wins of her career over the weekend. Monday afternoon, she was recognized for her performance.

Hunt was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week. The award was announced and chosen by the conference office.

In victories over Trevecca Nazarene and Kentucky Wesleyan, Hunt picked up her fourth and fifth wins of the season, throwing 14 total innings with 2 runs allowed and 14 strikeouts. Her complete-game shutout of the Trojans Saturday was her second shutout of the season. She currently holds a 5-3 overall record and ranks fifth in the G-MAC with a 1.99 earned run average and is second in the conference with 62 strikeouts.

Hunt is the first Charger softball player to ever win a G-MAC weekly award. Her honor represents the 36th time this school year a Hillsdale College athlete has been named conference player of the week.
