Chargers send three to compete at EMU Fall Classic

The Hillsdale College men's cross country team sent a small squad to compete against tough competition, including runners from Michigan, Michigan State and Central Michigan at the EMU Fall Classic on Friday at the Hudson Mills Metropark in Dexter, Michigan.

Freshman Seth Jankowski led the Chargers with a 33rd place finish on the 5K course in 16:46.1, and fellow freshman and teammate Mark Masaka was close behind in 37th with a time of 16:58.2.

Junior Dylan Palmer rounded out Hillsdale's finishers with a solid race, finishing 40th in 17:02.9.

All three runners in the event ran a collegiate best for the 5K distance on a cross country course on Friday.

Hillsdale has finished its tune-ups and now all that's left are the big end-of-season championship meets, starting with the G-MAC Championships on Saturday, November 5. The G-MAC meet is hosted by Findlay this year, and the Chargers will be looking to improve on last year's fourth place finish with a stronger race this season.
