Second Time's A Charm!

Second Time's A Charm!

A glance at the G-MAC men's cross country 8K record book reveals dominance by one name - Cedarville's Matt Brooker. During his career during the conference's emrbyonic years, he dominated the competition, achieving the top seven times in 8K races among all runners in all schools.

Joseph Humes has moved to the front of that line of one.

Humes set the G-MAC's 8K record at the Greater Louisville Classic last weekend and as a result, was named the G-MAC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the second time this season. The award was announced and chosen by the conference office Tuesday morning.

Humes' award represents the 10th time this school year a Hillsdale College athlete has been named G-MAC Player of the Week.

He took first overall in the Blue Division of the Greater Louisville Classic with a time of 24:17.8. He shattered the old record of 24:27.07, held by Brooker and set in 2013.
