2024 NCAA DII Outdoor Track and Field Championships Qualifiers
The Hillsdale College men's and women's track and field teams will send a strong contingent to the 2024 NCAA DII Outdoor Championships on May 23-25 to compete for national championships and All-American honors.
Nine Chargers are slated to compete in 10 events at the three-day championship hosted by Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas, another strong showing for a storied track and field program with lots of success historically at the national level.
There's a nice mix of experience and fresh faces for the Chargers in the group headed to Emporia as four athletes -- Shura Ermakov, Richie Johnston, Eden Little and Liz Wamsley are returning to the meet after competing last season in Pueblo, Colorado, while Cass Dobrowolski is making a second trip in his career after qualifying for the Outdoor Championships in 2022. Two Hillsdale athletes -- throwers Ben Haas and Katie Weldy -- are previous qualifiers to the Indoor Championships but are making their first outdoor nationals appearance this May, while Juliet Bernard and Tara Townsend are making their first appearances at a national meet in their collegiate careers over Memorial Day weekend.
Several returning All-Americans will compete as well for Hillsdale in Emporia. Wamsley and Ermakov are both returning All-Americans from the 2023 Outdoor Championships, Wamsley in the 10,000m run and Ermakov in the 400m hurdles, while Ben Haas is a past All-American as well in the indoor weight throw.
